S. Diana Hu is a seasoned technology leader with over 13 years of relevant experience. Currently, she is a Visiting Partner at Y Combinator, where she advises various startups and angel invests in promising ventures. She is a Startup Advisor & Angel Investor at new companies, where she helps founders navigate the complex world of entrepreneurship and provides strategic guidance to help them scale their businesses. Prior to this, Diana was the Director of Engineering and Head of AR Platform at Niantic, where she led the development of the company's AR platform and oversaw all the AR teams building core AR tech used in their games. She also shipped their SDK for developers in the Niantic Real World Platform and scaled the team by 5x over 2 years. Before joining Niantic, Diana was the Co-founder & CTO of Escher Reality, an advanced Augmented Reality API company that was acquired by Niantic. At Escher Reality, she built the most advanced Augmented Reality API and led the development of the company's technology. Diana holds an MS degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a BS degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. She also attended Y Combinator in 2017.
